Server solution

Install Sizial Net Server

SizialNet Server is the central management point for Windows agents and computers in one console.

What the server does

  • Receives network state, connections and security events from computers.
  • Shows all computers and their status in a shared console.
  • Sends policies and diagnostic commands to agents.
  • Stores history, creates incidents and audits actions.
  • Manages users and their access permissions.

An agent on each computer

It monitors the network, applies local rules and sends data to the server. If the connection is lost, the agent keeps working locally and buffers data.

One computer the server is optional for local monitoring.

Multiple computers a server is needed for central management.

Server installation guide

Connect to the server, install, configure and verify the service.

Install SizialNet Server

A step-by-step guide for end users. No programming required.

The IP address below is an example only. Replace it with your server's IP address. 11.22.33.44

What you need

  • A Linux server: Ubuntu 20.04+, Debian 11+, RHEL 8+, CentOS 8+ or Fedora 35+.
  • SSH access to the server with root privileges.
  • Internet access to download the required components.

No separate files are needed—the installer downloads the required components.

01

Connect and install

1. Connect to the server

Run this command in a terminal, replacing the example with your server's IP address:

ssh root@11.22.33.44

Or connect using PuTTY.

  1. Enter the server IP in Host Name, then select Open.
  2. When prompted, enter root as the username and press Enter.
  3. Enter the root password. You should see a root@…# prompt.

2. Run the installer

Copy and run this command in the server terminal:

The installer runs with root privileges. Use it only on your own server and verify that the download address is the official net.sizial.com.

bash <(curl -s https://net.sizial.com/deploy/install-server.sh)

If the command above does not work, use wget instead:

wget -q https://net.sizial.com/deploy/install-server.sh && bash install-server.sh

Installation usually takes 10–20 minutes. Keep the connection open and wait for it to finish.

During installation, you will see messages similar to these:
✓ Detected: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
Installing .NET 10...
Installing PostgreSQL 15...
Installing Redis...
Downloading SizialNet Server (~50 MB)...
✓ Certificates generated
✓ Service created

Set up access

3. Create a Web Console administrator

When the installer asks for administrator credentials:

  • Username: keep the default admin or enter another name.
  • Password: set a strong password and store it securely.
  • Confirm password: enter the password again.

The password may not appear as you type. This is normal.

4. Save the details after installation

When Setup Complete appears, save the Web Console address and certificate paths:

✅ Setup Complete!

🌐 Web Console: https://11.22.33.44:5443/
   Username: admin
   Password: (the one you entered)

📦 Client certificates for Windows agents:
   CA: /opt/sizialnet/certs/ca-cert.pem
   Client: /opt/sizialnet/certs/client.pfx

Installation is complete. The server is ready for client connections.

03

Verify and troubleshoot

Check the service status

sudo systemctl status sizialnet-server

Expected status:

Active: active (running)

Open the Web Console

https://11.22.33.44:5443/

On the first connection, you may see a self-signed certificate warning. Check the address and make sure it is your server; do not proceed if the address or warning is unexpected.

View recent log entries

sudo journalctl -u sizialnet-server -n 50

The log should report that the application started and is listening on port 5443.

Application started
Now listening on: https://0.0.0.0:5443

If something does not work

From a Windows computer, check server and port access (PowerShell):

ping 11.22.33.44
Test-NetConnection -ComputerName 11.22.33.44 -Port 5443

To view the service log over SSH, run:

ssh root@11.22.33.44 "sudo journalctl -u sizialnet-server -n 100"

Certificate warning

This may be expected on the first connection. Check the server IP and do not accept the certificate if the address is not yours.

Go beyond the basics

From live activity to precise rules

Advanced features of the Windows version. Android offers local connection control, network-specific rules, DNS, connection logs and profiles.

Activity and statistics

Connections, directions, apps, traffic volume, and allowed or blocked requests. Keep track of what is happening in real time.

Precise access rules

Rules for apps, IP addresses and domains. Incoming and outgoing connections, internet and LAN access, temporary permissions and priorities.

Bandwidth and quotas

Upload and download limits, app priorities, and daily, weekly or monthly quotas for individual apps and the entire system.

History and diagnostics

Explore history, compare time ranges and revisit network events. Diagnostic archives help you investigate connection issues.

Routes and tools

Interface selection, DNS and VPN leak checks, and Wi-Fi analysis. Ping, traceroute, DNS, TLS, WHOIS, port scanning and Wake-on-LAN.

Profiles and notifications

Profiles for home, work and travel, with settings import and export. Event notifications, tray controls, and simple or expert modes.

For teams and multiple devices

A management server and console, central policies, roles, auditing and diagnostics. Features depend on the selected configuration and licence.

Across your devices

Windows and Android

Windows

App and connection monitoring, internet and LAN rules, routing, bandwidth limits, quotas, history and diagnostic tools. Supports Windows 10 and 11 x64.

Administrator rights are needed to manage system network rules and use some features. The installer includes the .NET runtime, so no separate installation is required.

Android

Per-app control of Wi-Fi, mobile data and roaming. DNS, connection logs, temporary permissions, profiles and statistics. No root access required.

Android uses a local VPNService to handle connections on your device. Traffic is not forwarded through an external VPN server. The system VPN may conflict with another VPN app.

Four steps to take control

  1. Install Sizial Net on your device.
  2. Choose the apps you want to manage.
  3. Create access rules and select a profile.
  4. Enable control and check the connection log.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Does Android require root access?

No. Sizial Net uses Android’s local VPNService to control app connections without root access.

Does my traffic go through an external VPN server?

No. The local Android VPN handles connections on your device. Sizial Net is not an anonymity service and does not replace an external VPN for changing your IP address.

Which platforms are supported?

Windows 10 and 11 x64, and Android. Features vary by platform: interface routing, advanced quotas and diagnostic tools are Windows features.

Can I limit download speeds?

Yes. On Windows, you can limit app uploads and downloads, set priorities, and configure traffic quotas.

Why are administrator rights needed on Windows?

They are required to change system filtering rules and use some bandwidth limiting and traffic accounting features.

Does the app read the contents of my messages?

The regular connection log records metadata, not message contents. On Windows, packet capture must be enabled manually, with time and size limits and a visible indicator.

Can I transfer settings and grant temporary access?

Yes. Use settings import and export, profiles, and temporary permissions with an expiry time set in your rules.

Does Sizial Net replace antivirus software?

No. It helps you manage network connections and app access. It does not replace antivirus software or promise absolute anonymity.
